The Central Sierra foothill region produces a wide variety of agriculture commodities. Farms here are typically small, less than 20 acres, and family farmed. Fruit and vegetable produce is sold direct to the consumer or winery, and many farms have agritourism operations. Agriculture interfaces with the region's natural resources, primarily forest lands.
Over 50 varieties of wine grapes, a large variety of tree fruit such as apples and peaches, olives for oil, blueberries and Christmas Trees are all grown successfully here.
